Quality products come from qualified donors
|
More than 80 Grifols owned donation centers - our commitment
-
To aid in the quality and safety of our products Grifols owns and operates 80
plasma donation centers throughout the United States.
-
All our donation centers voluntarily adhere to the International Quality Plasma
Program (IQPP) standards established by the Plasma Protein Therapeutics
Association (PPTA).
-
Our experienced staff undergoes continuous training in the donation process.
-
Each donation center closely monitors donors to confirm that they are from low
risk populations with a healthy lifestyle.
-
Donation centers are regularly inspected by US FDA, state and local agencies as
well as international regulatory agencies and Grifols' Quality Department to
ensure that required standards are maintained.
Not everyone can be a donor: "Qualified donors" only
-
All first time donor candidates must successfully complete a physical
examination, two rounds of screening interviews and laboratory tests.
-
Donations from one-time donors are never used: plasma from a first time donor
is quarantined and not used unless the same donor returns within a six month
period, at which point both the first and second donations are released if test
results are correct.
-
All centers must participate in the National Donor Deferral Registry (NDDR).
Individuals previously deferred for positive test results at any center in this
network can quickly be identified and rejected using this computerized
database.

Important Safety

all plasma-derived products, the risk of transmission of infectious
